India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be presented with the Reliance Mobile ICC Test Championship mace at the Taj Palace Hotel, 2 Sardar Patel Marg, at 8.00 pm and the presentation will be made by ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat. Dhoni will accept the mace on behalf of the Board of Control for Cricket in India for leading his side to the top of the Reliance Mobile ICC Test Championship. There will be a photo opportunity and also an opportunity for a brief question-and-answer session with Dhoni and Mr Lorgat.

5. Nepal's Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal arrived at Beijing as part of a six-day visit to China. This was his first official visit to the country since he became prime minister of Nepal.

6. Yukio Hatoyama, Prime Minister of Japan arrives in Mumbai today at 4.00 pm. His engagement in New Delhi begins on Monday from 3.00 pm.

7. The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (JAC) has threatened to enforce an indefinite bandh from December 29.

8. Maoists have given a 24-hour bandh call in five states on January 2 alleging that CPIM cadre fired at a Christmas tribal fair near Lalgarh in West Midnapore district.
