ASSIGNMENT FOR 11th JANUARY , 2010
1. INDO-PAK FRIENDSHIP CONCLAVE : The three-day conclave at India International Centre , Auditorium will discuss the “ISSUE OF AUTONOMY FOR KASHMIR & BALUCHISTAN “ from 9.30 am onwards. Participants are Asma Jehangir (Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, UN special rapporteur on freedom of religion & belief) , Yasin Malik (Leader, JKLF) , Sajjad Lone (President, Peoples Conference) , Siraj Malik Akbar (Senior Journalist, Quetta, Pakistan) , Bizenjo Hasil Khan, (Senator, Balochistan, Pakistan). The meet will be chaired by Rajendra Sacchar (Retd. Chief Justice, Delhi High Court & PUCL) .
2. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh will get Ceremonial Reception at Forecourt at 10.00 am at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
3. Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh will launch the “Solar Mission” at the inaugural function of “Solar Energy Conclave” being organized by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy at 10.30 am at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. . Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy will preside over the function.
4. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, will lay wreath at 10.30 am at Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi.
5. FICCI is organizing an interactive meeting with Benjamin (Fuad) Ben-Eliezer, Minister of Industry, Trade & Labour, Ministry of Israel at 10:30 AM at Darbar Hall, Hotel Taj Palace, Sardar Patel Marg, New Delhi The Israel Minister will be accompanied by 30 member business delegation from sectors such as home land security; consultancy, aviation, technology, infrastructure, IT, agriculture and water cooperation.
6. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh , at 11.15 am will meet Minister of External Affairs , SM Krishna at Hotel ITC Maurya .
7. S.P.A.C.E. (Science Popularization Association of Communicators & Educators) organises a press interaction with Renowned Eclipse expert, Prof. Jay Pasachoff, Director of Hopkins Observatory on the occasion of the longest Annular Eclipse at 11:30 am at Nehru Planetarium Teen Murti Bhavan, New Delhi.
8. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh , at 12.00 noon , will meet President at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
9. Valedictory Session and Awards Distribution at 10th AutoExpo 2010 by Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, at Lal Chowk, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi at 12:00 noon onwards.
10. CII is organizing a luncheon meeting with Mr Banjamin Ben Eliezer, Minister of Industry, Trade and Labour, Israel and the accompanying official and business delegations at 1.30 pm at Mumtaz Mahal, Hotel Taj Palace, Sardar Patel Marg, New Delhi.
11. The discussion will be chaired by Lalita Ramdas (Chair of the Green Peace International Board) .
12. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh will meet Pranab Mukherjee , Minister of Finance , at 3.00 pm at Hotel ITC Maurya .
13. INDO-PAK FRIENDSHIP CONCLAVE : The three-day conclave at India International Centre , Auditorium will discuss the issue of “TRADE AS AN INSTRUMENT OF PEACE “ from 3.00 pm onwards. Participants are Muchkund Dubey (Former Foreign Secretary, India) , Ravi Wig (Chairman SAARC, ASSOCHAM) and Akbar Zaidi (Leading Pakistani Economist) . The conference will be chaired by Dr. Biswajit Dhar (Director General, Research and Information Systems for Developing Countries) .
14. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh , will meet Sushma Swaraj , Leader of the Opposition , at 3.30 pm at Hotel ITC Maurya.
15. France’s top five automotive innovative clusters, accompanied by 13 innovative French companies from the sector, such as Renault, Lifco and EFS are visiting Delhi to explore business opportunities. On this occasion, the Ambassador of France to India, Mr Jérôme Bonnafont, will address a press conference at 3:30 pm at the Embassy of France 2/50 E Shantipath, Chanakyapuri New Delhi.
16. Irina Bokova Director-General of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) will address a pres conference at 3:45 p.m. at UN Conference Hall, 55 Lodi Estate,(Entry from Gate No. 2, Opp. Alliance Française).
17. Kapil Sibbal , Human Resource Development Minister , to launch a book on “ Engineering Education in India” at 4.00 pm at Observer Research Foundation , 20 Rouse Avenue , near bal Bhavan , ITO, New Delhi.
18. Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh , will meet Sonia Gandhi , Chairperson UPA , at 4.30 pm at 10, Janpath .
19. The Minister for Economy and Foreign Trade, Luxembourg, Jeannot Krecke will address FICCI Members at 4.30 p.m. at Hotel Oberoi, New Delhi. The Minister will speak on the subject “Luxembourg and the EU after the Global Financial and Economic Crisis : Threats and Opportunities for the Future”.
