• ‘WALK FOR LIFE’ A CanSupport Initiative , is being flagged off by Gurcharan Kaur, wife of Prime Minister , Dr. Manmohan Singh , at 9.00 am at Central Civil Services Sports Ground , Vinay Marg , Shantipath . The effervescent & sporty mascot of the Commonwealth Games 2010 SHERA will also join the walk along with emminent sports personalities – K. Maleshwari, Moorad Ali Khan, Zafar Iqbal, Ajit Pal Singh, G.S.Randhawa, and Jagbir , Sharmila Tagore and Rahul Bose, Naveen Jindal, Dr. Kiran Bedi, Ritu Kumar, Mr. JP Singh, Principal Secretary Health, Govt. of India, Also in the front line will be former US Ambassador David Mulford and his wife and the present US Ambassador to India Mr. Timothy Roemer and his wife Sally.
• Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate and address the Chief Ministers’ Conference. The Union Home Minister, P. Chidambaram will deliver the opening address at 10.00 a.m. at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The Conference assumes importance in the backdrop of the proactive policy being pursued by the Government to combat nexalism, increased infiltration attempts from across Indo-Pak border and the success of anti-terror measures in the past 6-8 months.
• Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare will launch the National Round of Polio Campaign at 10.00 AM at Nirman Bhawan lawns in front of gate no. 6.
• Live performance and music launch of TUMSA NAHIN DEKHA by Brian Silas at 5.30 pm at DLF Promenade , Vasant Kunj.
• The Union Home Minister, P. Chidambaram will brief the media on the deliberations at the Chief Ministers’ Conference, at 6.00 pm at PIB Conference Hall, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi
• Abdullah Gul, President of the Republic of Turkey , will arrive at Air Force Station , Palam at 8.30 pm.
