ASSIGNMENT FOR 10th , MARCH , 2010

1. Chefs de Mission along with Suresh Kalmadi, Chairman, Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi and Michael Fennell, President, Commonwealth Games Federation will be visiting the Commonwealth Games Village at 8.45 am. All accredited (for Chefs de Mission) photo journalists and camera persons requested to assemble at the office of OC CWG Delhi 2010, Near Jantar Mantar, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi by 8:00 AM.

2. P Chidambaram , Union Home Minister, will review the CISF Day Parade at 9.00 am at 5th Reserve Batallion CISF , Indirapuram , Ghaziabad.

3. 6. Tibetans and Indian Tibet supporters in Delhi will observe the 51st anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day by leading a peaceful protest rally from Ram Lila Maidan to Parliament Street starting at 9.30am. Eminent Indian personalities and Tibetan leaders will be present during the program.

7. Former Prime Minister Shri H.D. Deve Gowda to stage Dharna with 1500 Karnataka Farmers at Jantar Mantar at 11.00 am. Karat, Bardhan, Mulayam, Ajit Singh, Yerran Naidu, Other Senior Leaders to address two-day protest.

8. 19. Farewell function in the honour of retired / retiring Members of Rajya Sabha at 7.00 pm in the Auditorium of Parliament House Annexe. The function will be attended by Chairman Rajya Sabha, Prime Minister and many others. A ghazal concert by Jagjit Singh has also been organized.

1. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to visit India on March 11 & 12.

2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will host an international convention on "financial inclusion and financial literacy" in Bangalore on March 22 as part of its platinum jubilee celebrations.

3. Manmohan Singh will visit Washington in April to attend the Global Nuclear Security Summit to be hosted by the White House on April 12 and 13.

4. All Matathipathis (heads of mutts) and sadhus of South India would convene at Namakkal in Salem on April 18 to discuss the status of religious conversions.
