12. CII and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)  organizes an interactive session with Mr Rob Steele, Secretary General, ISO  at 3:00 PM at India Habitat Centre  (Jacaranda Hall -1), Lodi Road, New Delhi. The session will focus on Strengthening Industry's Participation in International Standards Development. 

13. Programme Orientation programme for Ph.D Students from 4.30 P.M. at University Seminar Hall ,GGSIPU Campus, Kashmere Gate Delhi. This Programme will be inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dilik Kumar Bandhopadhyay. 

14. Bar Council of India is organizing inaugural function of its Auditorium at 5.00 PM at its premises at 21 Rouse Avenue Institutional Area.  It will be inaugurated by Dr. M. Veerappa Moily , Union Minister of Law & Justice in the presence of Justice Dalveer Bhandari, Judge Supreme Court of India and other dignitaries  including Justice A. P. Misra, Chairman, Legal Education Committee.

                     

15. The international MUSHAIRA JASHN-E-BAHAR is scheduled at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road from 5:30 PM onwards.  In its 11th year now, this year the mushaira focus on aman-o-dosti.

16. The Russian Centre of Science and Culture jointly with the International Federtion of Indo-Russian Youth Clubs inaugurates the Photo Exhibition and Lecture "FROM THE DIARY OF A RUSSIAN PRESS PHOTOGRAPHER" by Grigoriy Kubatyan, Press Photographer of the Magazine "GEO", at 5. 30 p.m.

17. The  Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, C.M. Jatua will be the Chief Guest at the Inaugural  Ceremony of the Bangla Desh Film Festival being organized from 16th -18th April, 2010 at 6.30 p.m. at Siri Fort Auditorium –II, August Kranti Marg. Entry from Gate No. 4.

ON WATCH - RADAR & FORTHCOMING EVENTS

1. Gene Campaign and Action Aid are organizing a national conference on Ensuring Food Security in a Changing Climate to generate greater awareness about this issue and to develop recommendations  for action, with stakeholder inputs. The conference is being organized in Delhi on 23 and 24 April, 2010 , at the Constitution Club ( Speakers Hall). Jairam Ramesh will inaugurate the conference. Dr MS Swaminathan will deliver the keynote address and a range of experts will address various aspects of  mitigation and coping with adaptation  in order to support sustainable food security.

2. Patiala House Court - District and Sessions Judge SP Garg will pronounce final verdict and quantum of punishment in the 1996 Lajpat Nagar, Delhi Blast Case on April 17.

3. All Matathipathis (heads of mutts) and sadhus of South India would convene at Namakkal in Salem on April 18 to discuss the status of religious conversions.

4. Pranab Mukherjee's first visit as finance minister to the USA will be on April 24-25 to attend the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group .

5. The special court  will pronounce its verdict in Kasab Case on May 3.
