1. THE SUNDAY INDIAN organizes a press conference to highlight the plight of families of policemen who died fighting Maoists in Orissa from 12:00 Noon   onwards at Press Club of India, Raisina Road, New Delhi. The press conference will be addressed by:CONSTABLE PRATIMA ROUT, a policewoman who was riddled with bullets by Naxals in Nayagarh. She is now facing victimisation from her superiors in the force.JAYAKRISHNA BARDHAN, father of slain policeman Ajit Bardhan, who is yet to receive his legitimate dues.MASE MADKAMI, tribal widow of a Malkangiri jawan died in a landmine blast two years ago. Her family is in dire straits in the face of government apathy.

2. Southern Institute of Technology , organizes an interaction with  John Wright , Former Coach of Indian National Cricket Team  & Ken McDonald , Brand Ambassador, SIT to launch the John Wright Scholarship at 3:00 P.M. at  India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi

3. FREESIA SPORTS MEET AND KIDS CARNIVAL as these special children run their way to glory from 4:30 pm onwards at Jesus Mary College Ground, San Martin Marg, Chanakyapuri. Kapil Dev,  Dushyant Singh, Nafisa Ali and Angad Kalan will be there at the occasion.

4. Bhopal Walk for water and anti- DOW mela at Central Park , Cannaught Place at 5:00 PM.

5. CROCS FOOTWEAR organizes the closing ceremony of “Corporate Sports Challenge 2010” at JP Greens Integrated Sports Complex, Greater Noida at  5:30 PM. Well-known organisations like HCL, Wrigleys, Fidelity, Hewitt Associates are participating in the challenge For Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Squash, Swimming and Soccer.

6. The 2nd Pupul Jayakar Memorial Lecture  by Simon Molesworth, Chairman, International National Trusts Organization  on the occasion of World Heritage Day at 6.30 P.M. at the India International Centre Annexe, New Delhi.

ON WATCH - RADAR & FORTHCOMING EVENTS

1. Gene Campaign and Action Aid are organizing a national conference on Ensuring Food Security in a Changing Climate to generate greater awareness about this issue and to develop recommendations  for action, with stakeholder inputs. The conference is being organized in Delhi on 23 and 24 April, 2010 , at the Constitution Club ( Speakers Hall). Jairam Ramesh will inaugurate the conference. Dr MS Swaminathan will deliver the keynote address and a range of experts will address various aspects of  mitigation and coping with adaptation  in order to support sustainable food security.

2. Pranab Mukherjee's first visit as finance minister to the USA will be on April 24-25 to attend the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group .

3. The special court  will pronounce its verdict in Kasab Case on May 3.
