1. Over 5.5 lakh Children to Paint the Delhi of their Dreams , to express their solidarity for a clean Delhi and a clean Yamuna , from 9:00 AM onwards at Schools across  Delhi NCR.

2. Rotary Club of Delhi Midtown , WWF and UNESCO organize the culmination of “Jal Hai Toh Kal Hai” campaign --- over 1,00,000 school children - under the Pledge Campaign “Save Water Save Life” – have committed to save water and the memorandum will be submitted to  Pratibha Patil , President of India , at 10:00 AM at National Stadium, Near India Gate. These children will hand over the memorandum to Pratibha Devisingh Patil , President , at 12.00 Noon at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

3. Management Development Institute of Singapore organizes a seminar on ‘WELCOME TO SUCCESS’ by  R. Theyvendran , Secretary General, MDIS , at Air Force Auditorium, Subrato Park Dhaula Kuan from 10:30 AM onwards.

4. K.N.Govindacharya will address a press conference on " CHALLENGE OF NAXALISM AND INADEQUACY OF POLITICAL PARTIES" at the Press club, Delhi at 12:00 P.M.

5. The OC CWG along with Department of Environment, GNCTD is organising the 'Waste to Craft' competition which aims to educate students and youngsters on "treating waste as a resource' at 12:00 Noon at THE ATRIUM, Games Head Quarters , OC CWG Delhi 2010, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi . Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, Chairman, Organising Committee Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi will be present at the occasion to encourage the children. 

6. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) organizes exclusive preview of I2Tech 2010 with Prof. Surendra Prasad , Director, IIT Delhi , Prof. Subir Saha , Chairman I2Tech 2010 , Prof. M Balakrishnan , Deputy Director, Faculty from 2:00 p.m onwards at IIT Main Guest House, IIT Campus, New Delhi . I2Tech 2010 is an annual open house, a platform that showcases an extensive collection of innovative research and projects undertaken by IIT students and professors.

7. FIREFOX BIKES launches POPEYE SERIES of Bikes for the first time in Inia at Hotel Ramada Plaza at 12.00 Noon.

8. Signing of the 'Reciprocal Common Transport Agreement' among NCR States of UP, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan for unrestricted and seamless movement of traffic in NCR region at  2.30 P.M. at R.No.123, ‘C’ Wing, Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi.Secretary, Urban Development, Shri M. Ramchandran  will brief the Press wherein representatives from Govt. of UP, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan will also be present apart from Member Secretary, NCR Planning Board.

9. Bhopal Gas Victims would hold a press conference at 3:00 PM at Press Club of India to expose the shortcomings of allotment of Rs. 982 crores by MP Govt for Bhopal Gas Victims. 

10. The Minister of Railways, Mamata Banerjee will be the Chief Guest, of the Annual Railway Award Function of 55th Railway Week and will present the Efficiency Shield to best maintained Branch and Merit Certificates to the meritorious Officers/Staff & Sports persons etc at 3.15 P.M. at  Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan,  New Delhi.

11. Briefing by Foreign Secretary , Nirupma Rao ,  on visit of Prime Minister to Thimphu for the SAARC Summit at 3:45 PM at XP Briefing Hall, Shastri Bhavan.

12. On the Occasion of Earth Day, Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister , will be inaugurating an Awareness program on Climate Change for Delhi Schools at 6:00 PM at 26, Prithviraj Chauhan road.  The awareness program and an online platform for ideas on Conservation of Water & Energy, GreenSpaces Ideas,  are being launched by The Climate Project-India (TCPI) and Paharpur Business Centre.

13. The Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment, Mukul Wasnik will inaugurate the National Resource Centre on Disability which will demonstrate assistive devices and technology at  6.30 P.M. at  AADI, 2 Balbir Saxena Marg, Hauz Khas, New Delhi.

14. The Russian Aviation Company Limited, jointly with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC), organizes a function on the Presentation of the Book, entitled "WAR IN THE SKY", at 7.  00 p.m. at the RCSC, 24, Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi-110001.

15. The launch of India’s first 50 theatre Bonzai with the starcast of film CHASE ---Anuj Saxena , Udita Goswami from 9:00 PM onwards at 2^nd Floor West Gate Mall , Rajouri Garden. 

ON WATCH - RADAR & FORTHCOMING EVENTS

1. Gene Campaign and Action Aid are organizing a national conference on Ensuring Food Security in a Changing Climate to generate greater awareness about this issue and to develop recommendations  for action, with stakeholder inputs. The conference is being organized in Delhi on 23 and 24 April, 2010 , at the Constitution Club ( Speakers Hall). Jairam Ramesh will inaugurate the conference. Dr MS Swaminathan will deliver the keynote address and a range of experts will address various aspects of  mitigation and coping with adaptation  in order to support sustainable food security.

2. Pranab Mukherjee's first visit as finance minister to the USA will be on April 24-25 to attend the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group .

3. The special court  will pronounce its verdict in Kasab Case on May 3.
