1. Prime Minister , Dr. Manmohan Singh , leaves for Bhutan to attend the 16^th SAARC Summit being hosted by Bhutan.

2. All India Management Association organizes a conference on “Climate Change” , based on the theme : “ENSURING ENERGY SECURITY AND MEETING THE CHALLENGE OF CLIMATE CHANGE” from 9:30 AM onwards at Sheraton Hotel, Saket, New Delhi. Key Panelists & Speakers are :                  Shyam Saran , Former Special Envoy on Climate Change ; Deepak Gupta , Secretary ,  Ministry of New & Renewable Resources, Govt. of India : ·                     and many others.

3. Union Minister of Power, Sushilkumar Shinde, will inaugurate the Conference of Power Ministers of States and UTs  at 9.30AM at Hall No.5, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Vilasrao Deshmukh,  Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Murli Deora, Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Sriprakash Jaiswal will also address the conference.

4. Mr Sachin Pilot will flag off the group of 35 students who are heading  for trekking expedition to Kuari Pass(4268 Meters) in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand at 9:45 AM at 3, Safdarjug Road. This is for the first time that 15 orphan kids including one partially blind kid are joining in the trek. They are between the age group of 14-16 years.

5. The inaugural ceremony of Global Security India 2010 will take place at 10.30 AM at the Front Lawn of Hotel Ashoka. Home Secretary GK Pillai is expected to attend the function.

6. Inauguration of the exhibition: LESSONS FROM RWANDA , presented by UN Information Centre and India Int Centre , at 11:00 AM at ART Gallery , India International Centre Annexe , Lodhi Estate . The exhibition will continue till  7Th May from 11.00 AM to 7:00 PM.  The exhibition presents an account of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda and traces its painful journey towards justice and reconciliation.

7. India is celebrating Tri-Centenary of victory of Sirhind by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur as Sirhind Fateh Diwas at Gurdwara Fateh Garh Sahib, Punjab.  In this connection, a Fateh March which has commenced on 30th March, 2010 from the religious/sacred  soul of Sri Hazur Sahib Nanded and will be reaching Delhi by Aya Nagar,  Mehrauli-Gurgaon  Border  on the 28th April, 2010 covering various States Municipal Corporation of Delhi would be providing State Welcome to the Fateh March at the Aya Nagar, Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road at 12.00 noon where various top political leaders would be present .

8. Dewar , the scotch brand of USA , organizes a press conference to announce the launch of indoor golf tournament – Dewar’s Open at 12.30 PM at Golfworx,Level 4, Platinum Tower,Ambience Mall,Gurgaon.

9. NIIT Technologies LTD organizes a  Press Meet For the Company’s Cloud Computing service launch at  2:30 PM at Ballroom, P Oberoi, New Delhi

10. Dr. Rahul Khullar, Commerce Secretary, will be releasing the Strategy Paper for the growth of Auto and Auto Component Exports: 2010-2014, at Committee Room No.141, Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi at 3.00 p.m.

11. The National Stock Exchange Rajdhani Express to be flagged off by Namo Narain Meena , Minister of State for Finance , at  3:15 PM at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station  Assembly at Platform No. 1 .

ON WATCH - RADAR & FORTHCOMING EVENTS

1. Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil, who has been given the additional charge of Rajasthan , will take oath of office at 11:00 AM at Raj Bhawan in Jaipur.

2. The government has convened a meeting of MPs belonging to 33 worst Naxal-affected districts on April 30 to apprise them about its strategy to deal with the Maoists. Home minister P Chidambaram and top home ministry officials will brief the MPs . Of the 33 districts, 10 are in Jharkhand, seven in Chhattisgarh, six in Bihar, five in Orissa, two in Maharashtra, one each in Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh

3. The special court  will pronounce its verdict in Kasab Case on May 3.]

4. The Congress Yatra, to commemorate the 125th year of Congress' foundation, will culminate on November 10 with a rally of party President Sonia Gandhi at Allahabad.
