1. ORGANISING COMMITTEE COMMONWEALTH GAMES 2010 DELHI organizes the  flagging off ceremony of the 10th Perfect Health Parade at 9:45 A M by Suresh Kalmadi, Chairman, OC CWG near Jantar Mantar.

2. The Left Front will hold a 'Jail Bharo' programme today  throughout the country, except in West Bengal, to protest against the rise in prices of petrol, diesel and essential commodities.

3. Prime Minister will chair the meeting of Chief Ministers of various states on Price Rise of essential commodities at 7 RCR at 10.30 AM.

4. Defence Investiture Ceremony’s Entry passes for the event can be collected from Room No. 96 A/2, South Block (Gate No 2) between 1100 hrs and 1300 hrs and from 1400 hrs to 1700 hrs today .

5. Dr.M.Veerappa Moily, Union Minister of Law and Justice will release a Paper on Proposed Amendments to the Arbitration and Conciliation  Act,1996 at 3.00 P.M. at PIB Conference Hall, Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi.

6. The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya will meet Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia to finalize Annual Plan 2010-11 of the State at Committee Room No.122, First Floor, Yojana Bhawan at  3.00 P.M.

7. UTSAV presents DWIVARNA , celebration of heritage tradition , and its contemporary reflection through Texture, Colour , Weave , print and Embellishment from 3:00 PM onwards at Aga Khan Main Hall , 6 , Bhagwan Das Road.

8. Signing of the Agreement of Cooperation between O. P. Jindal Global University & University of Cambridge to Train Indian Police Officers from 3:30 PM onwards at India Islamic Cultural centre, 87-88, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi. Professor Lawrence Sherman Wolfson Professor of Criminology, University of Cambridge, UK will deliver lecture on the theme:“KNOWLEDGE BASED POLICING: INDIA AND THE GLOBAL REVOLUTION IN CRIME PREVENTION”. Ashwani Kumar, Director, CBI Will be the chief guest.

9. Vice President , M. Hamid Ansari will  release a book entitled “My Name is Gauhar Jaan! – The Life and Times of a Musician”  written by Shri Vikram Sampath at  4.45 P.M. at Conference Hall, Vice President’s House                        6, Maulana Azad Road New Delhi.

10. General VK Singh, Chief of Army Staff will host a tea for 51 Award Winners including awardees of Param Vishist Seva Medal, Kirti Chakra, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, Ati Vishist Seva Medal and Shaurya Chakra at 06:30 PM at  Army Battle Honours MessSP Marg (Opposite Taj palace Hotel)New Delhi     

ON WATCH - RADAR & FORTHCOMING EVENTS

1. All Petrol Pumps will remain closed on April 09, 2010 to register their protest against VAT in New Delhi.

2. Ranjana’s Academy of Dance, Utsav Educational and Cultural Society, is organizing a two-day international dance festival “Unbound Beats of India”, the third in this series, which will be held on the 12 & 13 April, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

3. Lok Sabha to resume its sitting on 15^th April , 2010.

4. Manmohan Singh will visit Washington in April to attend the Global Nuclear Security Summit to be hosted by the White House on April 12 and 13.

5. All Matathipathis (heads of mutts) and sadhus of South India would convene at Namakkal in Salem on April 18 to discuss the status of religious conversions.

6. Pranab Mukherjee's first visit as finance minister to the USA will be on April 24-25 to attend the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group .

7. The special court  will pronounce its verdict in Kasab Case on May 3.
