                                        ONE-YEAR OF UPA 

1.      All India Christian Council is organizing a special prayer meeting for peace in Manipur at Apostles’ Methodist Church, New Delhi from 9:00 AM onwards. Pastors and church leaders of different tribes/ethnics groups of north east India along with Christian leaders from national capital regions will join in the prayer meeting.

2.       Jairam Ramesh, Minister of State for Environment and Forests , will   deliver the inaugural keynote  address at a national seminar on “ BIODIVERSITY,DEVELOPMENT AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION IN THE CONTEXT OF CLIMATE CHANGE” at 10.00 A M at Amaltas, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

3.      Dr. M.S.Gill, Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports will inaugurate renovated  R.K. Khanna  Tennis Stadium for Common Wealth Games, 2010 at 11.00 AM at R.K. Khanna Tennis Stadium, Africa Avenue New Delhi.

4.      Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra, President, Archery Association of India will address Press Conference at 1:00 PM in Vatika Banquet Hall, Bhairon Marg, Gate No.-1, Pragati Maidan.

5.      SHIPRA MALL organizes  the “MAD-A-THON with Ninja Hattori” from  4:00 PM onwards where  Gifts for every kid , Tattoo artist for kids ,Balloon sculpturing workshop and many other things will take place. 

6.      The Asian Closed Junior Tennis Tournament will be held at the RK Khanna Tennis Complex, New Delhi from 22 to 30 May, 2010 from 4.30 PM. The tournament is being considered as a test event for the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi.

7.      The Twenty – Sixth Annual Convocation of International Management Institute (IMI)Delhi at 5:00 PM at IMI Campus International Management Institute, B–10, Qutab Institutional Area . The Convocation Address will be delivered by Dr. Rakesh Mohan, former deputy governor, Reserve Bank of India .

8.      Rotary Family Hunt PANCHAM at FICCI Auditorium at 5:30 PM.

9.      UPA Chairman Sonia Gandhi will host a dinner party for leaders of UPA constituent parties at 7:00 PM at 10, Janpath. 

ON WATCH - RADAR & FORTHCOMING EVENTS

1. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will  address a press conference on May 24 to mark the first anniversary of the UPA government’s second term.

2. 27th Youth National Basketball Championship for Boys & Girls to be held at Trichy, Tamil Nadu from 1st to 8th June, 2010.

3. BJP National Executive Meeting in Patna (Bihar) on 12 & 13 June, 2010.

4. Bollywood star  Manisha Koirala to tie the knot with Nepali businessman Samrat Dahal on June 19.

5. Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao will meet her counterpart Salman Bashir in Islamabad on June 26 on the sidelines of the meeting of SAARC Home Ministers.

6. Chidambaram will visit Islamabad on June 26 where he will meet Interior Minister Rehman Malik and get a briefing on the trial in Pakistan of the 26/11 plotters and investigations into the attack.

7. S M Krishna will visit Islamabad on July 15 for talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureishi.

8. Women’s hockey World Cup 2010 to be held in Rosario, Argentina, from Aug 29 to Sep 11.

9. The Congress Yatra, to commemorate the 125th year of Congress' foundation, will culminate on November 10 with a rally of party President Sonia Gandhi at Allahabad.
