1. Cabinet meeting from 9.30 AM onwards in Parliamnt.

2. J. Harinarayan, Chairman, IRDA, will inaugurate the FICCI’s sponsored  conference on “Health Insurance” from 9.30 A.M. onwards at FICCI, Tansen Marg, New Delhi . The IRDA Chairman has also agreed to meet the press immediately after the inaugural session at 10.30 a.m. along with Shivender Mohan Singh, MD, Fortis Healthcare  and V Vaidyanathan, MD and CEO, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.

3. ASSOCHAM National Conclave on “CORPORATE GOVERNANCE - VOLUNTARY GUIDELINES – 2009” “BRINGING TRANSPARENCY IN CORPORATE SECTOR” begins from 09.45 A.M. at  ASSOCHAM House, 47, Prithviraj Road, New Delhi. Salman  Khurshid,   Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs (I/C), will be the Chief Guest.

4. The flagging-off ceremony of the IAF Motor cycle expedition to Himalaya will be held at  India Gate at 1015 AM. The expedition will be flagged-off by  Air Officer-in-Charge Administration (AOA), Air Marshal JN Burma PVSM AVSM VSM. 

5. Photo Ops Only---- Dr S.Y. Quraishi , will takes over as new Chief Election Commissioner of India , at 10 AM at  CEC Chamber,  2nd Floor , Nirvachan Sadan . After  assumption of office at 10 AM , Dr Quraishi will address the media  at 10.30 AM , in the Conference Hall, 4th Floor , Nirvachan Sadan.

6. CII is organising a two day National Conference on Green Homes on that begins at  10:00 AM at India Habitat Centre, Stein Auditorium, Lodi Road, New Delhi. The Conference will be addressed by Prof Saugata Roy, Minister of State for Urban Development; Dr Ajay Mathur, Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency; Dr Prem C Jain, Chairman, Indian Green Building Council and Vidur Bharadwaj, Chairman, Green Homes 2010 & Chairman.

7. A 11-member delegation of senior members of the Chinese Communist Party is visiting ORF for an exchange of views from 11:00 AM onwards.The meeting will be held at the conference of ORF.The Indian side, besides ORF Faculty, will comprise of former ambassadors and academics

8. An MoU will be signed between Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) at 11.15 a.m. at Conference Hall, MoP&NG, (Room No.201), A-Wing, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi.

9. Herbalife International India Pvt. Ltd. Organizes a news conference to meet India’s pride and boxing sensation WORLD BOXING CHAMPION  M. C. Mary Kom and to announce her association with Herbalife at Hotel Park from 11.30 AM onwards.

10. KINGDOM OF DREAMS organizes  ‘Media Preview’ of CULTURE GULLY at KINGDOM OF DREAMS from 12 : 00 PM onwards at  Kingdom of Dreams, Sector 29, Near IIFCO Metro Station, Gurgaon.

11. Announcing the winners of  the first ever NCPEDP – MphasiS Universal Design Awards Press Conference at 3:00 PM at  Indian Women’s Press Corps (5 Windsor Place).

12. Rashmi Virmani organizes a Press conference to announce Final 16 contestants for SKECHERS ASIAN SUPER MODEL INDIA 2010 at 3.30 p.m. at F Bar, The Ashoka Hotel , New Delhi .

13. Press Conference regarding "Mid Season appraisal of Monsoon 2010 and forecast for remaining Season (August & September)" at 04.30 P M at Conference Hall, 6th floor, Mausam Bhawan, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

14. Vice President , M. Hamid Ansari will present the National Amity Award to the Legendary actor and Parliamentarian Sunil Dutt (Posthumously). The award will be received by   by his daughter Ms. Priya Dutt (M.P.. Loksabha) at 5.15 PM at  Vigyan Bhawan, Hall No.6,  Maulana Azad Road,  New Delhi.

15. HarperCollins India is launching ‘Man of Glass’ & ‘The Things about Thugs’ by Tabish Khair at Conference Room III & Lawns, India International Centre Annexe, Max Muller Marg, New Delhi at 7.00pm . Keki Daruwalla and Salil Tripathi will be in conversation with the author.

17. Raktarabi Social & Cultural Society, New Delhi is celebrating its Annual at 7.00 P.M. at Sri Ram Centre, New Delhi. 1.                  President ,  Pratibha Devisingh Patil will inaugurate the International  Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) at Hyderabad on 19th August 2010. 

2.                  Women’s hockey World Cup 2010 to be held in Rosario, Argentina, from Aug 29 to Sep 11.

3.                  The Congress Yatra, to commemorate the 125th year of Congress' foundation, will culminate on November 10 with a rally of party President Sonia Gandhi at Allahabad.
