ASSIGNMENT FOR 19th OCTOBER , 2010

1.      The Competition Appellate Tribunal (COMPAT) is celebrating its 1st Anniversary on 19th October, 2010 from 9:00 AM onwards at Hotel Lalit Barakhamba. Minister of Corporate Affairs ,  Salman Khursheed will be inaugurating the Conference and Minister of Law & Justice,. M. Veerappa Moily will be addressing the closing session of the Conference. Chief Justice of India, Justice S.H. Kapadia alongwith  Judges of the Supreme Court, High Courts will be attending the function.

2.      Dr. Guido Westerwelle, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany , will visit Gandhi Smriti at 09:30 AM at  5, Tees January Marg.

3.      Nitin Gadkari will address a national conference on Bio Fuels for national security at 10:00 AM at Constitutional Club.

4.      Sashtra Seema bal organizes the inauguration of 4th Annual Exhibition of SSB Wives Welfare Association SANDIKSHA –2010 on 19th OCT at 10:00 AM at BC park Near Sarojini Nagar . Chief guest will be Sheila Dixit. And Closing ceremony will be at 4:00 PM which will be presided over by Mohini Menon.

5.      National Conference on Intellectual Property for Micro, small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Policy Maker and Facilitating Agencies at 10:00 AM  at Silver Oak, India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi. Mr. P H Kurian, Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, Intellectual Property Office; Mr. Dharmendra Prakash, Joint Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Mr. Guriqbal Singh Jaiya, Director,  Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Division, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Geneva, will address the Inaugural Session on 19th October at 1000 hrs.

6.      TRAI is organizing an Open House Discussion on: “National Broadband Plan” at 10.00 a.m. at Gulmohar Hall Habitat World at India, Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

7.      FICCI, Centre for WTO Studies and UNCTAD India Programme are jointly organising a “National Conference on Strengthening South-South Trade and Investment: Aid for Trade and India” at 10:30 AM at FICCI, Tansen Marg

8.      Dr. Rana Hasan, Principal Economist, Asian Development Bank; Mr. Amar Sinha, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Mr. Bonapas Onguglo, Senior Economic Affairs Officer, UNCTAD, Geneva will address the session.

9.      Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare will release the “Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) India Report 2010” at 10.30  a.m. at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital Auditorium, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi - 110001
