NEWS ASSIGNMENT

ASSIGNMENT ON DEC 17, 2009

1. Saugata Roy, Minister of State for Urban Development will inaugurate Top Rankers 11th National Workshop “ Evolution & Revolution of Collective Leadership for Organizational Excellence” and also give away Top Rankers Excellence Awards at 9.30 A.M. at Hotel Imperial, Janpath, New Delhi.

2. A group of 50 Codavas and Codavathis, who have come all the way from Coorg, Karanataka, will sit in peaceful protest in their traditional dress, at JANTAR MANTAR, New Delhi, from 9.30a.m. till 12.30a.m to mark World Minorities Rights Day. The Codava group will hand over a memorandum addressed to Secretary General, United Nations, to the Director, United Nations at the UN Office, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi.

3. Defence Minister A K Antony to deliver the keynote address to the daylong seminar on ‘Internal Security: Duties and Obligations in upholding Human Rights’. General Deepak Kapoor to deliver the inaugural address at 10. 00 am at IDSA Auditorium, 1 Development Enclave, Near USI, Rao Tula Ram Marg.

4. Salman Khurshid, Minister of Minority Affairs, to be the Chief Guest at a function to celebrate the Minorities Rights Day and to present the Minorities Rights Day Award at Speaker’s Hall, Constitution Club, Rafi Marg, at 11.00 A.M.

5. Minister for Land of Bangla Desh, Rizaul Karim Hira to call on Minister of State for Rural Development, Shri Sisir Kumar Adhikari at 12.00 noon at Minister’s Chamber (Room No.197, Gate No.4, Krishi Bhavan).
6. UNDP India and The YP Foundation conduct an interactive workshop to raise awareness about The Right to Information Act, 2005 And how young people can utilize it for issues that concern them at Parking lot Lawns, Hindu College, University of Delhi, University Enclave, at 12:30 – 2:30 pm
