ASSIGNMENT FOR 13th JANUARY , 2010
1. Lt Gen SR Ghosh, AVSM, SM, GOC-in-C, Western Command will review an investiture Parade and give away gallantry awards at 09.10 AM at Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt.
2. Confederation of Indian Industry in association with the Corps of Army Air Defence, Indian Army is organising “International Seminar on Army Air Defence in 21st Century” at 0930 hrs at D S Kothari Auditorium, DRDO Bhavan, Gate No 3, Dalhousie Road, New Delhi. A K Antony, Raksha Mantri, Gen Deepak Kapoor, Chief of the Army Staff; Lt. Gen Ram Pratap, Director General, Army Air Defence and Baba N Kalyani, Chairman, CII National Committee on Defence & Aerospace & CMD, Bharat Forge Ltd, will address the Inaugural Session.
3. Sheikh Hasina will visit Jaipur and Ajmer at 10.30 am.
4. Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Dr.C.P.Joshi to inaugurate a National Consultation on the Index of Backwardness Based on Block as the Unit for BRGF at 9.30 am at Hall No.3, , Vigyan Bhawan. The Post Lunch Session will have an address by Dr. M. S. Ahluwalia, Dy. Chairman, Planning Commission.
5. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will have a pre-budget meeting with Finance Ministers of all States and Union Territories as per the following schedule at 11.00 a.m. at Hall No. 4 (F.F.), Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
6. Students Islamic Organisation of India's (SIO) organizes Nation-wide Campaign "Students Voice for Just World" The President of SIO Suhail KK will address the press conference Press Club of India, 1 Raisina road, New Delhi on 13th January (Wednesday) 2010 at 11:00 AM.
7. The Loomba Trust, to announce Ms. Preity Zinta, as the brand ambassador for the trust at 1.00 pm at The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia, AB-19 Mathura Road, New Delhi.
8. The flagging off ceremony of the IAF United Nations Peace Keeping Force (UNPKF) proceeding to Sudan will be held at AF Station Palam (31 MCU Dispersal) at 3.00 pm . The contingent will be flagged-off by Air Marshal JS Randhawa, VM, Director General (Inspection and Safety).
9. Sheikh hasina will leave for Dhaka at 3.00 pm .
10. National Fishworkers’ Forum to hold a press conference at Women’s Press Club ( IWPC ) at 3.00 pm. Fishermen are protesting against (1) Marine Fisheries Regulation and management Bill ( draft ) (2) traditional Marine and Coastal Fisherfolk ( Protection of Rights Bill ( draft ) and (3) the issues around revision of CRZ regulations.
11. Shri Salman Khurshid, Minister of Minority Affairs, to meet the Press after chairing the 56th Meeting of the Central Wakf Council at 4.15 pm at Conference Hall, Ministry of Minority Affairs, 11th Floor, B-wing, Paryavaran Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodi Road.
12. LOHRI CELEBRATIONS with in-house guests and other clients under its ‘Unified Celebrations of India’ initiative at Plaza Terrace Gardens, The Lalit , Barakhamba Avenue, Connaught Place , between 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Bhangara & Giddha Dancers rejoicing to the vibrant beat of the Dhol; the Lohri bonfire, traditional snacks and more will be the attraction of the programme.
