1. The two-day National Conference on Green Jobs to be inaugurated by  Harish Rawat, Minister of State for Labour & Employment at 09:00 AM at the Hotel Claridges,  Aurangzeb Road. The conference will discuss emerging trends and issues relating to the creation of new environment friendly employment opportunities and the transformation of existing occupations in the shift towards greener economies.

2. Colonel Neeraj Sood, Commanding Officer of 18 Rashtriya Rifles attained martyrdom  in an operation against terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 Jun 2010. He  will be cremated  with full Military Honour at Barar Square (Near Naraina on Ring Road) at around 10 : 00 AM.

3. Urdu Academy , Delhi organizes an Urdu Editor’s Conf on URDU JOURNALISM IN DELHI : PROBLEMS AND POSSIBILITIES at 11:00 AM at Auditorium , Delhi Secretariat , IP Estate. Sheila Dixit , Kiran walia , Aziz Burney to attend the function.

4. Smriti Malhotra will take charge of BJP Women Wing at 11:30 AM at BJP HQ , 11, Ashoka Road.

5. FICCI is organising an interactive meeting with Vicente Alvarez Areces, President of the Principality of Asturias (Spain) at 12:00 Noon at FICCI, New Delhi . Areces will speak ON “BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN SPAIN: ASTURIAS, THE METAL AND ENGINEERING HUB”.

6. B. K. Handique , Union Minister for Development of North-East Region and Mines, to MEET THE PRESS on the Special Projects forNorth East Region at 12.15 PM at Minister’s Chamber, Room No. 101, C wing, Shastri Bhawan, New   Delhi.        

7. Mamata Banerjee , Railways Minister , will inaugurate and flag off ‘Commonwealth Express’ Train at 5:00 PM at Platform No. 1, Safdarjung Railway Station,  New Delhi.

8. Vice President  , M. Hamid Ansari ,  will present the “National Gold Awards to Young People” at a function organized by The International Award for Young People at 5.15 PM at Conference Hall, Vice President’s House,                       6, Maulana Azad Road, New Delhi.

ON WATCH - RADAR & FORTHCOMING EVENTS

1. Free Health check up camp for PRESS CLUB Members and their  families  on 10th & 11th July 2010 from 10 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. at Conference Hall , Press Club of India.

2. Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will be in Washington and Atlanta from June 23 to 25 for the US-India Health Dialogue.      

3. Minister of State for Science and Technology Prithviraj Chavan is scheduled to be in Washington on June 24 and 25 for the US-India Science and Technology Forum, Crowley said.          

4. A glittering ceremony to receive the Queen’s Baton Relay will take place at the Wagah / Attari Border post on Friday, 25 June 2010 from 8:00am onwards.

5. IPL Governing Council to meet on June 25 in Mumbai. ‎

6. Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao will meet her counterpart Salman Bashir in Islamabad on June 24.

7. Chidambaram will visit Islamabad on June 26 where he will meet Interior Minister Rehman Malik and get a briefing on the trial in Pakistan of the 26/11 plotters and investigations into the attack.

8. S M Krishna will visit Islamabad on July 15 for talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureishi.

9. Women’s hockey World Cup 2010 to be held in Rosario, Argentina, from Aug 29 to Sep 11.

10. The Congress Yatra, to commemorate the 125th year of Congress' foundation, will culminate on November 10 with a rally of party President Sonia Gandhi at Allahabad.
