1. 6th ASSOCHAM Global Telecom Summit – 2010 begins at 09.00 A.M. at  VENUE: Hotel Shangri La, New Delhi. Inaugural Address by P. J. Thomas, IAS, Secretary, Department of Telecom and Keynote Address by Kuldeep Goyal, Chairman & MD, BSNL

2. CII is organising a one day HR Conclave 2010 : “Towards Excellence in HR” that begins at 10:00 AM  at The Lalit Hotel, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi .Vibha Puri Das, Secretary, Ministry of HRD , has been INVITED to address the Inaugural session.

3. The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath will address the Press at an informal interaction after the inauguration of a One-Day Awareness Camp on  Socio-Economic Empowerment of Women at  11.00 A.M. at     Dilli Haat, Pitampura New Delhi.

4. FICCI is organising a Roundtable Discussion on “INDIAN INVESTMENTS IN EU - WAY FORWARD FOR INDIAN COMPANIES”. The Discussion will be led by prominent Ambassadors/High Commissioners of EU, France, Italy, Netherlands at  11:30 AM at FICCI, Federation House, Tansen Marg.

5. Dr. C. Rangarajan Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to PM,    will address a Press Conference on “Review of the Economy 2010-11.” At 11.30 a.m. at PIB Conference Hall, Shastri Bhavan,  New Delhi

6. Basketball Federation of India (BFI) & IMG Reliance organizes a press interaction session for The IMG Reliance Scholarships for India at Sanskriti School, Chanakyapuri at  12:30 PM Andy Borman Director, IMG Academy for Basketball, and leading coach Dan Barto are visiting India to conduct the assessments and will be available for press interactions.

7. The Invitational Cycling Event kicks off  at 3:00 PM at at the newly built Cycling velodrome., Indira Gandhi Stadium..Apart from three teams from India countries like Australia, Malaysia and Chinese Taipei will participate in the three-day event.

8. Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Water Resources, Pawan Kumar Bansal to hold a Press Conference consequent to meeting with Secretaries of various Ministries to consider items of Government Business to be taken up during ensuing session of Parliament at 3.30 P.M at  Room No.62, Parliament House, New Delhi.

9. The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) unveils the  New Generation Cost Effective Off-Grid Lighting Solutions for Rural  Electrification with Deepak Gupta, Secretary Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, and Dr. R.K. 10. HarperCollins India is launching  “MISS MASALA: REAL INDIAN COOKING FOR BUSY LIVING’ by Mallika Basu at Oxford bookstore, Statesman Building, Barakhamba Rd, at 6.30pm . Columnist Shefalee Vasudev will be in conversation with Mallika.

11. Rupa & Co. releases the book VICTORIA GOWRAMMA: THE LOST PRINCESS OF COORG by C.P. Belliappa, at 7:00 P.M. at British Council, 17 Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi. The book will be released by Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Law and Justice.

12. Jérôme Bonnafont, Ambassador of France to India, and Ravi Singh, Publisher, Penguin Books India, will launch  THE CRIMSON THRONE written by Dr Sudhir Kakar at 7:00  P.M. at the Residence of France 2/50E, Nyaya Marg, Chanakyapuri.  Shashi Tharoor, Hon’ble Member of Parliament will be in conversation with the writer.

13. Instituto Cervantes Nueva            organizes LA MAS BELLA PROJECTS WORKSHOP  from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM at 48 , Hanuman Road , Cannaught Place. The workshop will continue till 24th July.

ON WATCH - RADAR & FORTHCOMING EVENTS

1.                  President ,  Pratibha Devisingh Patil will inaugurate the International  Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) at Hyderabad on 19th August 2010. 

2.                  Women’s hockey World Cup 2010 to be held in Rosario, Argentina, from Aug 29 to Sep 11.

3.                  The Congress Yatra, to commemorate the 125th year of Congress' foundation, will culminate on November 10 with a rally of party President Sonia Gandhi at Allahabad.
